WA Blue Gum Project 2006

The Project offers a timber plantation investment growing Tasmanian Blue Gum which is the major hardwood species grown in Australia for pulp log production. Growers can contribute a minimum initial investment of $31,350 on a GST inclusive basis for 6 hectares, which should be fully tax deductible in the 2006 financial year.

Two of the directors of the scheme have over 25 years experience in timber plantations and all three are partners in a legal firm. Currently thousands of hectares of eucalyptus plantations are managed by W.A. Blue Gum Limited.

W.A. Blue Gum Limited has entered into arrangements with specialist firms for the management, monitoring, harvest and sale of the timber. In addition the participation of leading international forestry consultancy, URS Forestry will enhance the Growers' position.

The trees will be harvested after approximately 10 years and the grower is also offered an option for a second 10 year investment.

Finance Options

Growers are able to borrow up to 80% of the Application Amount from Albany Financial Pty Ltd, a company associated with the Project Manager. The loans from Albany will be for a period of over four (4) years ending on 30 September 2009 at a fixed interest rate of 10.2% per annum on the reducing principal.
