The health benefits of extra virgin olive oil and the increased
popularity of organically produced foods in Australia present an
outstanding investment opportunity. The 2007 Organic Olives Income
Project is an excellent opportunity to stake a claim in this exciting
industry.
The 2007 Project will produce olives grown under organic conditions,
in the largest Australian olive groves of their kind, located in
selected Australian regions proven for their olive grove suitability.
Olives will be used for the production of organic extra virgin olive
oil. Great Southern will have a contract for the sale of its organic
olives to WA olive oil producer Kailis Olive Processing Ltd, who will
manufacture and sell the oil locally and internationally.
The
Project
The investment amount is
$8,800 (GST inclusive) per grovelot. Each established grovelot will be
0.1 hectares in size, and contain 33 olive trees. Investment in the
project is 100% tax deductible over the first three years of the Project
(70% in 2006, 15% in each of 2007 and 2008), as confirmed by Australian
Taxation Office Product Ruling PR 2005/117.
After the initial investment
there are no ongoing costs, all ongoing management costs will be borne
by Great Southern or via your returns. You will not be required to make
any additional payments, at any time throughout the Project period. As
an investor you are expected to receive annual returns from their
proportionate share of harvest proceeds for 16 years, after year five to
20. Grovelots are expected to reach full production after eight years.
The Project will be extended for a further two years should an average
IRR of 9% p.a. over the life of the Project not be achieved.
