Note that the
FEA
Plantations Project 2006 is now open.
FEA Plantations Project 2005 (Project) involves the
establishment of 3,000 hectares of plantations of mainly eucalyptus
species, which will be located in either Tasmania, northern New South
Wales or south east Queensland. Growers are given the opportunity to
participate in the business of growing eucalypt trees on ½ hectare
woodlots. The eucalypt species being grown is appropriate for each site,
having regard to climate, soil and site factors relevant to the
particular location and is suitable for both pulp and solid wood
products.
The
objective of the Project is to grow, harvest and market timber for the
highest overall price FEA Plantations Ltd can achieve taking into
account the proposed end use of the timber, e.g., for use by processors
in the manufacture of fine paper, sawn timber products, etc. The
Project is FEA Plantations’ 13th consecutive offering and currently has
over 24,500 hectares of plantation forestry under management.
The Investment
The initial management and
establishment fee is $3,300 (inc.GST) per Woodlot, this is deductible in
the year of investment. There are no on going rent or maintenance fees
payable by Growers during the course of the Project. The combination of
rent under the lease of the forestry right granted to Growers plus
management fees for maintenance of the plantations, together amounts to
15% of harvest proceeds. The plantations that you acquire are expected
to be harvested in years 9 and 13.
